Tips For Congregants Who Travel
Be alert and aware of
your surroundings at all times.
If you notice anything
that strikes you as suspicious, report it to the proper authorities.
Use you door viewer or
side window to identify anyone coming to your room.
Do not admit anyone into your
room unless you are positive of their identity. Ask for
identification or call the check-in desk and confirm their identity.
Do not leave your room key or
card laying around. Keep control of your room key or card at all
times.
Secure any window or
door locks at any times in which you may be vulnerable (showering,
sleeping, using the bathroom, etc.)
Make sure your door and
all windows are secured whenever leaving your room.
Report any lock
malfunctions to the management immediately.
Do not leave valuables in your
room.
Do not leave your valuables
accessible in vehicles.
Do not discuss the name of your
hotel/motel or your room number in front of any strangers.
Do not discuss the times in which
you may be away from your room in front of strangers.
Do not count or display your
money in public.
Leave your card/key
with the check-in desk when checking out; do not leave your key/card
in your room.
Observe your vehicle
and the area around it for a few moments before proceeding to it and
getting into it. If you have any “bad feelings”, continue to observe
it from a safe location. If necessary, have someone walk you to your
vehicle and make sure you are safely in it.
